“Love The Way You Lie”

Domestic Violence is something you usually hear about in the news or read about in the paper. Domestic violence is an everyday issue in our society but many of us do not hear about it because young adults don’t care to watch the news on a regular basis. “Love The Way You Lie” by Eminem and Rihanna is a song that sends the message of how domestic violence is an important issue that takes place everyday and happens to young adults all around the world. Not only do just young adults face domestic violence, celebrities do too; so when Rihanna co-sung this song after addmitting to being put through domestic violence, people were more likely to relate to her. Having two major stars come together and produce a song like this, makes it much easier to get a message across to the younger generation instead of hearing about it on the news or reading it in the paper. Having the issue presented in a song makes the issue more empowering to young people because it allows them to see the situation and know if something like this is taking place in their lives that they are not alone; they can put a stop to it and help is available.
